Playing a role is something we all do, whether we are aware of it or not. Think about how differently you act when you are in mom mode, or work mode, or on date night. Those are all roles we have been assigned or assigned ourselves- and we play them every day. It’s the same as being a professional actor- except actors are on a stage, or in front of a camera or microphone. Some roles you get to prepare for, do research, rehearse. Others rely on improv, like being a parent each day. In both instances, there are tricks and methods that actors use to play their roles convincingly. 

How many times have you been in a situation that is new to you and you had to navigate your way through it with just the information that is accessible in the moment?
