Opportunities are available for operations, marketing, education, outreach, programs, and more. Laptops will be available at the volunteer fair to check out the new VRMS online system to manage volunteer opportunities within PMI and sign up on the spot.

July Volunteer of the Month - Connie Mayta

Connie Mayta has project management background in manufacturing industry. Connie was nominated to be the project manager of the 2015 Career Fair. She stepped in without any hesitation with great enthusiasm. She was able to manage all challenges related to operations and help the team members who were involved in this Career Fair with high level of professionalism and leadership. She was able to pay attention to all details related to vendors as well as participants. Taking care of all these details encouraged everyone to work and participate in this great event and to express willingness to participate next year as well. The great feedback we received from vendors and participants deserve recognition as the Volunteer of the Month.

PMI-MN would like to thank Connie for her time and dedication. Congratulations Connie!!!

Committee News

PMI-MN Sponsorship Committee

The Project Management Institute’s Minnesota Chapter provides education, networking and employment support to over 3200 registered members and Project Management Professionals in North Central United States and, primarily, the Twin Cities region.
To support the offerings of PMI, the MN chapter has developed a Sponsorship Committee that offers organizations the opportunity to reach out and support this unique group of professionals. Connecting companies, educators and associations with PMI-MN members via sponsorship of a chapter dinner/breakfast, exhibiting at Job Fair or PDD, or placing an ad in the eBlast Newsletter, can establish leadership in the industry and create the top-of-mind awareness so important in today’s professional world.
The efforts of the PMI-MN Sponsorship Committee helps facilitate the funding of PMI sponsored events and, in exchange, provides a platform for the Project Management industry to communicate with and be visible to the PM professional. This opens valuable doors for both parties providing jobs for individuals, employees for organizations and increasing skill levels for everyone involved. It is this collaborative effort that establishes the PMI-MN Chapter as an award winning Chapter.
The committee’s dedicated team of 8 to 12 people meet regularly and work behind the scenes with the sponsor and other PMI-MN committees and affiliates to insure that this valuable exchange takes place. From a sales role, to delivery coordinator of the sponsorship, to managing our partner relationships, the Sponsorship Committee provides a platform for the project management community to be visible to the professional.
Please reach out to PMI-MN Chapter Sponsorship Chair if you would like to learn more about utilizing one of PMI-MN many offerings or volunteering for our dynamic committee.

PMI-MN Partnership Program

PMI-MN’s Partnership Program within the Sponsorship committee exists to create and maintain relationships with private and public corporations, educational and institutional organizations that support the discipline of project management. The program has been around for several years, and currently includes a total of 48 partner organizations. PMI-MN’s Partnership Program seeks to create value for the project management profession by facilitating professional development opportunities for area project managers and providing networking opportunities between organizations that use project managers.
PMI-MN benefits from Partner relationships through support provided by the organizations. Support includes funding for items like e-blasts, venue support like classrooms or conference rooms for meetings and training sessions, and direct volunteer support at PMI-MN events. All of these means of support enable PMI-MN and Partner organizations to mutually keep local project managers effective and well trained.
Partnership with PMI-MN is an opportunity for an organization to maximize visibility in the industry and network with colleagues in a unique and professional setting. By sponsoring PMI-MN events, you promote your organization, support the efforts of your people and are visible to the regional world of project management. It’s an excellent way to access knowledge, networks and resources. PMI-MN helps to keep skills levels high and advances careers in project management for both an organization and its people.
The Partnership Discount is a key benefit of Partnership with PMI-MN. This benefit gives your members, employees, faculty and students an opportunity to participate in PMI activities, events and programs at a reduced rate.
A Partner with PMI-MN will also be offered preferred status to pursue sponsorship opportunities for PMI-MN events when possible. To see if your organization is a PMI-MN Partner, please see this page.
Also, PMI-MN is hosting a Sponsor lunch on September 30th. This is a great opportunity for Partners to gain points for retaining Partner status with PMI-MN by sponsoring 2016 PMI-MN events! If interested in attending the lunch, please use the e-mail address just below or stop by Professional Development Days at RiverCentre September 14-17.
Feel free to contact PMI-MN Chapter Sponsorship Chair with questions.
