There were some good days for skiing, ice fishing and trekking. And of course a few of us temporarily retreated to warmer climes. And then spring is just around the corner! We’re already in the planning stages for summer activities like the PMI-MN Summer Get-together. Enjoy a night out at our monthly evening meetings (dinner and show!), as well as breakfast and luncheon meetings. Speaking of meetings, we have our bi-annual Volunteer Fair coming up this month, and our annual Business meeting in March. At our March Business meeting, I look forward to discussing how we did as an organization in 2016, and what we can do better in 2017, and beyond! It will also be a chance for all of us to review and ratify our Chapter’s Bylaws. That ratification is important as it keeps us aligned with PMI’s requirements for all chapters. As you are probably aware, the Minnesota Chapter is among the largest in the U.S… and the continent… and the world. Not just large, but innovative as well. As in years past, this year we are sending representatives to the European and North American PMI congresses. While “Minnesota Nice” is often derided for being somewhat passive-aggressive, we do have a strong culture of leadership and organization. Companies like Cargill, General Mills, Medtronic (to name a few) are powerful corporate examples of that culture. As Chapter members, that’s pretty exciting and encouraging in a global economy! Terri Kimball, Alex Wincell and Manish Kalra will be our globe-trotting representatives in April and will report back on their experiences. For the here and now, I look forward to seeing you at the February Volunteer Fair, and again in March for the annual Business meeting! Barb has jumped in with both feet since joining PMI-MN. She joined the Sponsorship Committee and immediately stepped into selling sponsorship packages and taking care of the details that make our sponsors happy and returning to PMI-MN. As a highly capable Project Manager, whose skills the Sponsorship Committee put to good use, and also as the Co-Chair of the Sponsorship Committee, Barb helped to establish the process of working with our Sponsors and delivering on their programs with professionalism and consistency. Her fun loving attitude and smile always make her a pleasure to work with as well. PMI-MN is fortunate to have Barb as a volunteer.
PMI-MN would like to thank Barbara for her time and dedication.

You don’t actually need to be a new member—or a member at all—to attend this orientation session! This is a great way to check out the Chapter. If you haven’t been to many Chapter events (or it’s been a long time), come and get re-acquainted with what our Chapter is all about!
Check the upcoming month’s dinner meeting details on the Chapter website for time and place of the Member Orientation session.
