Program Description: 

Are you a senior project manager, portfolio or program manager who is wondering what’s next for your career path?  Moving towards being a Business Relationship Manager (BRM) may be your next stepping stone. Many of the skills and behaviors necessary to be a successful PM can be leveraged in a BRM role. This session will provide you an introduction to BRM role, why organizations need the BRM role, and how you can leverage your PM skills to move into a new opportunity.

Objective: At the end of this session you will be able to…

  1. Articulate the various maturity levels of the Business Relationship Model and how they interact with the business and service provider.
  2. Articulate the need for the BRM Role.
  3. Define the key competencies need to be a BRM and how you can leverage your PM skills. 

Audience: Experienced Project/Program/Portfolio Managers; IT Managers; anyone interested in developing a deeper understanding of the relationship between business & IT.

Dr. Susan Heidorn, BRMP, PMP®, CBAP, CSM is the Director of Business Solutions for Watermark Learning in Minneapolis. Susan is an experienced consultant, facilitator, speaker, and trainer, with over 25 years of business experience. Susan directs programs in business analysis, business relationship management, and leadership, including developing and delivering products, services, and training, as well as providing coaching and consulting. She has been a speaker at a number of IIBA® and PMI® conferences as well as local and regional organizations, boards, and private clients. She is a lifelong learner whose passion it is to guide people into achieving excellence in their personal and professional lives and works on creating positive impacts to the organization.
