Dan Gowens brings 22 years of IT experience into Prime Therapeutics (Prime) as the Director of the IT PMO. His experience is spread across multiple industries including healthcare, distribution, manufacturing, the service industry, and finance. Dan's primary focus at Prime is to continually focus on service and practice uplift for IT project life-cycle management while continuously aligning with organizational strategy. The IT PMO is service driven and organizationally aligned with delivering those services to Prime's stakeholders and partners in the most predictable and cost-optimized way possible.
Dan joined Prime in April of 2015. Prior to joining Prime, Dan served similar IT and project management leadership roles with Aon Global and Ameripride Services here in the Twin Cities. Dan hails from Texas where he spent the first 15 years of his career in similar roles with a variety of companies. Dan received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree in with a minor in mathematics in 1995 from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. He currently serves as a faculty member for the local ThinkIT Link to Leadership program here in the Twin Cities. He is also actively involved in the local MN PMI chapter as well as local networking groups.

Damon Smith holds over 20 years of leadership, business, and IT experience in the health care industry, including 16 years in the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) industry. Currently at Prime Therapeutics (Prime), Damon holds the position of Vice President, Enterprise Program Management Office. He provides overall leadership for Prime’s investment roadmap execution that includes the project management and business analysis practice.
Prior to joining Prime in 2003, Damon held various leadership and operational roles at eBenX (an IT Healthcare company), UnitedHealth Group, and Express Scripts. Damon received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa, in Cedar Falls, IA. Damon is also actively involved in the Minneapolis/St. Paul community serving on various boards, community volunteer organizations, and business advisory groups.
